Ingredients:
1 sachet (about 5g) DOMA’s Instant Craft Coffee
1 cup, plus 1 tsp granulated sugar
1 cup strawberries, plus more for garnishing
½ cup, plus 2 Tbsp water
6-8 oz milk of choice
Ice
Instructions:
Start by making the strawberry syrup. Add 1 cup granulated sugar to 1 cup diced strawberries and mix well. Fully coating the strawberries in the sugar will start the maceration process, drawing out the fruit juice and tenderizing the fruit. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes, then place in a small pot and add ½ cup of water. Bring to a simmer and stir for about 10 minutes until the strawberries are fully soft. Remove from heat, strain the solids from the syrup and cool. Discard the solids or keep for a sweet strawberry puree.
To create your whipped coffee, add the sachet to a small bowl with 1 Tbsp of sugar and 2 Tbsp of warm water. Using a hand whisk, or electric frother, begin whisking the coffee. It will take about 2-10 minutes depending on the type of whisk you use. Look for a thickened consistency that’s much lighter in color and at least double the volume of your original ingredients. Set aside.
To build your beverage, add your cooled strawberry syrup to the bottom of your serving glass; we suggest using about two tablespoons (10 grams) of syrup, but feel free to add more or less to taste. Top with your milk of choice and add ice leaving about 2 inches of headroom in the top of the glass. Spoon your whipped coffee over the milk, garnish with a strawberry and enjoy! N
