Why do you recommend it?
For the majority of the trail you’re under a canopy of cedar trees with a blanket of ferns, wildflowers, huckleberries and mushrooms at your feet. It’s an easy 2 miles with only 1 mile of steep at the end to the lake. The final climb is totally worth it!
What was most noteworthy?
The trail itself is lush, green and stunningly gorgeous. Most of the trail is under cedar canopy so this would make for a great mid-summer hike when the heat is up followed by an icy dip in the lake. There are huckleberries galore and some evidence of historical logging.
