Why do you recommend it?
This is one of the most valuable resources in our area. Tubb’s Hill is a 500-acre wooded park in downtown Coeur d’Alene surrounded on three sides by water. It’s the ideal place for an afternoon hike or a full day of adventure around its rocky shoreline and up to its summit.
What was most noteworthy?
Most people only hike the perimeter trail, which provides stunning views of the lake and town. However, the real magic of Tubb’s is found off the main trail along the shoreline, where there are dozens of massive boulders, cliffs and even a few small caves to explore.
Story continues after a quick message from our sponsor below.
Are there restrooms?
Yes.
Know before you go:
Parking must be paid for at the McEuen Park parking lot. Summer can be very crowded with kids jumping off the rocks into the lake and families hiking the trail. Take a spur trail or head down to one of the waterline coves to avoid the crowds.
Where to celebrate after?
Moon Time, Sweet Lou’s, Seasons, Fire, Floating Green, Cricket’s, 315. Tubb’s Hill is in the heart of the downtown, so eateries are plentiful.
How do you get there?
Head straight down Third Street to McEuen Park and then walk a quarter mile to the trailhead that is just east of the Third Street boat launch.
