Ingredients
Doughnut
- 3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more
for dusting - 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 2 tbsp melted, cooled unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 7 oz buttermilk
- 2 oz pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- Oil for frying (best in a Dutch oven stock pot, oil halfway up)
Cream Cheese Frosting
- 8 oz cream cheese, warm at room temperature
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
