If you are looking for a challenging, unique and way off-the-beaten path hike into a place that very few know of, then this is for you. This is one of the most stunningly beautiful slot canyons in North Idaho. It is filled with lush vegetation and incredible rock formations as well as beautiful waterfalls the entire way up.

What was most noteworthy?
The sculpted and marbled walls, combined with lush hanging ferns and moss, are striking. Throw a nearly endless supply of waterfalls into the mix and you will be left speechless.

The closest are back at the Marble Creek Interpretive Center.
Know before you go:
To undertake this particular adventure during late fall or winter months, a drysuit or heavy wetsuit is a must. This creek is spring fed and extremely cold year round. Wear a good pair of shoes as you will spend most of your time wading in the creek and climbing a series of small waterfalls.
Where to celebrate after?
The best way to celebrate immediately after an adventure like this one is to bring along a couple of adventure beverages of choice and stash them in a pool in the creek to chill while you are hiking. There is nothing quite like a mountain stream chilled beverage after a challenging hike.

How do you get there?
Boulder Creek – Goolge Map Location
Drive along the St. Joe River on HWY 50/St. Joe River Road for about 34 miles. Turn right at the Marble Creek Interpretive Center and take Marble Creek Road for 2 miles. At the Boulder Creek Bridge intersection, turn left and cross Marble Creek. Drive up Boulder Creek Road for 2-3 miles. At the first fork in the road, take the right and head downhill for approximately 1 mile. The road will make a sharp right turn over a bridge at the bottom of the canyon. Park on either side of the bridge.
