Why do you recommend it?
It is a serene forest with much to offer the outdoor enthusiast. The trail through the cedar grove is beautiful and peaceful, and there is another trail that continues on beyond it. The Granite Falls has many different scenes to it to take in.

What was most noteworthy?
The giant, ancient trees and the forest floor, which was covered with varieties of mushrooms. A beautiful stream runs through the area. There’s a unique area of old-growth cedar named for President Theodore Roosevelt. Since the early 1900s, this area was noted for its beauty. On April 15, 1943, the grove was officially designated as a Scenic Area.

Granite Falls – Google Map Location
From Priest Lake Ranger District travel 4 miles north to Nordman. The trailhead is located 13 miles north of Nordman on Forest Road 302 (an extension of State Highway 57).
